matthews and matthews architects - architectural conservation and adaption of historic buildings, general services
Conservation architecture

Conserving and adapting historic buildings and structures can successfully ensure that they continue to be used, enjoyed, and well cared for, and that their economic potential is fully utilised.

We have considerable experience in the adaptive re-use of heritage buildings. This often involves incorporating new services and earthquake strengthening as well as making alterations and additions that are sensitive to the age and character of the structure. Our experience in this area means we have developed skills in both traditional and contemporary building methods and technologies.
